To all,
Thank you for the invitation and the flight for the FT 2010 duration flight.
Our first flight complete alone (pilot + co-pilot) in the basket and with
only one goal, flying back home to Flanders in Belgium. Everything worked
exactly as planned...entering Holland 30 min before sunrise, flying low with
good speed towards Antwerp, avoiding all CTR's, just before Antwerp SEVERE
thermals and no wind anymore, over harbour Antwerp lots of thermals and
wrong direction towards the sea, than finally crossing the Schelde and again
good direction but flying high with low winds, and near Gent (Gand) landing
with 12 knots ground wind!
All systems and battery's worked. Transponder all the time on. ATC with
Brussels, Antwerp and even permission from Brussels departure to fly in
their TMA to avoid severe thermals. Crew, friends and family at the landing
with cool beer.
Gas ballooning...we're addicted!
